Hau'oli Makahiki Hou, Happy New Year!

Hau'oli Makahiki Hou, Happy New Year!! I am sure everyone is out celebrating already... it is only 3:35 here and Tony is still at work. We are going to dinner tonight at Tiki's Grill to celebrate New Year's Eve. The restaurant is having two bands and a DJ - and with the open balcony we will be able to see all of the fireworks on Waikiki Beach!! We will take lots of pictures!

Tomorrow I am making the Good Luck New Year's Day Dinner - including a pork roast and black eyed peas.

We had a great 2009, and can't wait to spend 2010 in sunny Hawaii. We wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!!

Aloha!! Hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a nice, sunny and relaxing holiday.

A few new pictures for your viewing pleasure...

On Saturday, we went to the beach in the afternoon.

For lunch, we went to our favorite - Wolfgang's Express. We "switched it up" and tried the Pepperoni pizza for the first time.

Mmm Mmm Good!

 It was delicious AS ALWAYS!

Saturday night we went to the famous Duke's Waikiki restaurant, to celebrate our 5 YEARS together!! We made a 4:45 reservation, which is early, but the dining room is on the beach and the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

Us, walking to dinner...

There is live music from 3-6ish (until right after the sunset) on Friday - Sunday.

The sunset...

Dinner was good, nothing to write home about - although I am :) - probably a first and a last.

After dinner we talk a walk along the beach, towards home. Water was nice and warm. It really was a perfect night.

On Sunday, we went to the beach again, having more fun with the new waterproof camera.

Floating in the lagoon...

The "Christmas" pot roast got postponed until Sunday - we ended up eating with friends at Yard House for dinner on Christmas.  The pot roast was gooood. Nice and juicy.

Thank you for all of the holiday cards!!!  We love them!

Tony has a 4 day work week, with New Year's Day on Friday. No plans for NYE yet... we hear that there are fireworks EVERYWHERE On NYE in Waikiki. Can't wait!

Mele Kalikimaka!!

We hope that everyone is having a Wonderful and Merry Christmas!!

Tony got his wish of a "real good tan" for Christmas! He is out surfing right now - current temp is 75ยบ and Sunny! Rusty the Red-Nosed Silky Terrier delivered our gifts to our tree.

Hawaii is so nice, that besides the Obamas vacationing here...

Mr. and Mrs. Clause vacation here too!

We had a great Christmas Eve together - we played Scrabble, watched Elf, and I made Fettuccine Alfredo, as well as Linguine with Marinara Clam Sauce. Tony cheated and opened one of his stocking stuffers early - Rock Band Country Track Pack. He rocked the Mic, while I worked the guitar! It was a nice relaxing night.

Today we are going to watch the sunset at the Shore Bird, and then I am going to make us a yummy  Christmas pot roast!

Stay warm if you are back on the East Coast! xoxo!

12/19/09

Thank you to everyone who has sent us pictures of the blizzard that has hit Maryland today.

However, we were not stuck in the house today with our Snuggies... Tony went surfing this morning and then both of us enjoyed a quiet relaxing afternoon on the beach. Not too bad.

Have a great weekend!
xoxo

12/15/09 Jill and Shannon Visit - Day 6

Tuesday was the last day of Jill and Shannon's Hawaiian Vacation. They woke up early and went surfing with Tony.

After surfing, Jill and Shannon went shopping for a few hours in Waikiki. They did some good work! We drove the girls to the airport, and we were very sad to see them go! We had a really great week with lots of new adventures, and some gorgeous pictures to show for it!

Thanks for visiting, we can't wait 'til next time!!

After the airport, Tony and I went to Ala Moana mall to finish up some Christmas shopping, and run some errands. Time to catch up on some naps, tv and xbox!!

xoxo

12/14/09 Jill and Shannon Visit - Day 5

On Monday, we ventured out to the North Shore. Our first stop was at Turtle Beach, aka Laniakea Beach, to look for some sea turtles. When we arrived there were no turtles resting on the beach, so we went for the photo op on the rocks.

While on the rocks, some turtles decided to join us!

When we were on our way back to the car, a turtle decided to wim up to the beach and rest.

Next stop was another beach break that I didn't catch the name of. We stopped to check out the waves and take some pictures.

It was windy - hence the BIG hair!

Next stop, Waimea Valley Audubon Center and Waimea Falls.

We were all STARVING, so we headed straight for the Restaurant! While we waited for our food, I went searching for a peacock.

As soon as we sat down with our food, three peacocks wandered over to the picnic tables. A fellow diner advised us to watch our food, because they will jump on the table and grab our food! One even squeezed himself under the table and brushed up against me!!! The guy was kind enough to scare them off so we could eat in peace!

We even saw CHICKENS!

After a long walk, we finally arrived at the Waimea Falls.

Can you see Tony and Jill? Shannon and I stayed dry and warm and took pictures!

The Waimea Valley was very nice, and had GORGEOUS flowers! Our next stop was the world famous Pipeline Beach.  The Billabong Pipeline Masters was canceled for the day, due to SMALL surf!

After all of our beach stops, we were hungry again - we stopped at one of the many North Shore Shrimp Trucks. We took the long scenic route back to the apartment, driving the entire North Shore.

Later that night we took pictures by the Royal Hawaiian Center's Christmas tree and by Duke.

We headed to LuLu's for yummy Kailua Pork Nachos and shuffleboard, then called it a night! My legs were SO SORE, I could barely walk! Exciting Day!
