Aloha! It has been a busy week!  Rusty has been very helpful working on the apartment...

While I was cleaning he decided to nap on the dining room chairs!

On Friday, our new air conditioner was installed...

And our new sofa was delivered...

Rusty is a big fan of the new sofa!

The apartment is finally starting to feel like our home. Just a little more work - finding a home for some odds and ends, and hanging art and picture frames - and we will be there!  The goal for completion is Thanksgiving Dinner!

On Friday night, we went to the Jack Johnson concert at the Hawaii Theater. All proceeds benefited his Kokua Hawaii Foundation - educating Hawaii's Keiki (Kids) on the Environment.

Jack had HAIR for the concert... I didn't know it was him when he first walked out!

They showed his new DVD En Concert, which follows him through his Worldwide tour from 2008 and then he played a full acoustic set with Zach Gill. Paula Fuga, a Hawaiian artist, joined him for a few songs.  She has a very soothing voice. We even got to hear a song that he hasn't recorded yet, which Paula joined him on. It was a once in a lifetime type of show - with only 4,000 seats in the Theater! What a great show!!! I hope we will get to see him again while we are here.

On Saturday morning we woke up early to join the hundreds of walkers at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for the Cure at Kapiolani Park. Our team was the Hawaii Terps.

Rusty got tired, so we took turns carrying him (lazy bum)!

It drizzled on our walk over to Kapiolani Park, but the rain held out for the entire walk. But unfortunately when we finished the walk we saw the black clouds rolling in, so we started to head back. It wasn't soon enough, we got caught in some heavy rain - the only heavy rainstorm we have witnessed since we moved here!

Look how pretty the Louis Vuitton store looks for the holidays (sorry for the blurry walking shots - taken on my Blackberry!)

We love and miss you all! XOXO

Halloween and the Big Move

ALOHA!! Sorry it has been so long since our last post, but we have had a very busy week! On Friday night we met up with one of Tony's coworkers from DC, Mike, who was in town with his brother and girlfriend, and Claude and Russel, Tony's current coworkers, for a night out on the town.

On Saturday, Tony and I went to the beach and relaxed in the lagoon. In the afternoon we went to the Ala Moana mall to pull together a last minute Halloween costume for me. There were TONS of families at the mall trick-or-treating with their kids. Unfortunately there were no Halloween stores, and Hot Topic had none left... so we pulled together some items for my oh-so-creative Ray Lewis costume.

Tony, of course, was a sexy Chippendale, only he had a new addition this year....

Russel joined in on the fun, and they dressed as the great SNL Chippendale skit starring Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze.

They were a HIT with LOTS of girls asking to take pictures with them!

Billy Mays even made it out.

Halloween is INSANE in Waikiki - There were people EVERYWHERE. We walked around for an hour just people watching!

On Sunday morning we went to the beach again. We tried to go to Duke's for dinner, but there was an hour wait. We walked over to the Beachwalk and ate dinner at Giovanni Pastrami's, a recommendation made by Claude. I was VERY happy to see that they have Lox and Eggs, as well as Matzoh Ball Soup!! Can't wait to go back for breakfast!

Yesterday morning the movers arrived to deliver all of our furniture and belongings. We sent WAY too much stuff for the space we have!!

Truck #1 of 2

Rusty wasn't really minding all of the commotion...

And only a few things were broken... Not bad!

The movers did not leave until 6pm - and the living room was FILLED with boxes. Today I have been working hard to get rid of all of the boxes and it looks like I have finally made a dent in the work!

We also had a new Washer and Dryer delivered today, and someone is coming by this afternoon to fix the Air Conditioner! It is all coming together. Once I finish with the boxes and we get rid of the extra mattress and desk we brought, we should finally have a HOME in Hawaii!!

Waikiki Skytower

Aloha! Today we turned in the keys at Kaiolu Sunrise and officially moved into the Waikiki Skytower. I have been scrubbing the place down since 3:30 today. Tony is on his way home from work and we are headed to Target (greatest place on Earth) to pick up some essentials that were not shipped, and some that were shipped and we cannot wait for - like a bed (buying an air-mattress)!!!

Our Express Shipment is coming tomorrow around 2pm - which has a small TV, 2 settings of plates/bowls/cups, a fan and some other miscellaneous items.

Our big shipment is currently scheduled for Monday, at which point we will have all of our belongings - including a real bed, our TV, and all our kitchen stuff! Once we have everything and it is all set up, it will really feel like we live here. Then everyone can come visit!!

Rusty really likes the new place!

We love and miss you all!
xoxo
