Trip Home to Maryland Part 1

The update you've been longing for... Our trip home to Maryland!!

October 7, 2010
Tony is a smart cookie and insisted that he HAD to work the morning of our departure from Hawaii, when he really had the secret plan of not being the one to drop Rusty off at the kennel. After some last minute packing on Thursday morning I finished loading up the car and headed over to Hawaii Kai to drop Rusty-man off at Pacific Paws.

Tony and I flew back to the east coast on Thursday afternoon and landed in Baltimore on Friday morning. When we got down to baggage claim my Mom was waiting there with a big smile on her face. As we got closer, out jumped Corey from behind the pole. It was the best surprise!! We got our luggage from baggage claim and headed outside to meet Tony's mom. Once we sent Tony and his mom off, Corey, mom and I headed to Panera for lunch, where Corey filled me in on all the latest gossip (I'm not kidding!!)

After a much needed nap, my parents, Mandi, Jared, Tony and I headed to dinner at Blue Hill Tavern in Baltimore City. Dinner was delicious...

Following dinner Tony and I headed out to Canton to meet some friends!

It had been a long time since I had driven in the city, and I managed to make a wrong turn and ended up on Pulaski Highway. Oopsy!!

The next morning we both woke up bright and early to head our separate ways - Tony to Nanjemoy to spend the day with his Dad and cousins, and I was off to Silver Spring for Cat and Monty's wedding rehearsal.

Next we headed to lunch at Benjaroong where Cat and Monty stuffed us full of food!!

I loooove my gorgeous Maid of Honor gift from Kitty Cat!!!

Next, the ladies headed to get our nails done. After this we all indulged in a Popeye's feast in my hotel room (just like old times, minus the hotel room).

Once we finished our gourmet meal we headed to the reception site to decorate for the wedding.

Tony got in at 4am after a great day with his family. They spent the evening at the track and casino, both of which he has dearly missed.

The next morning I headed to Cat's to prepare for wedding day. Jen and I made a McDonalds and Starbucks run prior to arriving at Cat's. When we arrived Donna was already hard at work on hair and makeup. She did a fabulous job!!

We took a limo from Cat's to the Brookfield Inn where we continued to get dolled up.

Once everyone was all dressed, it was time to walk down the aisle.

I didn't think I was going to cry but when Cat started to walk down the aisle, the waterworks started too! The ceremony was very sweet - and the bees thought the flowers were sweet, swarming all around Cat's bouquet that I was holding!

My Maid of Honor speech...
"Seven years ago I got a job at a local Rockville bar called Orangeball. This job not only made me some great money, but it made me some good friends, most of which are here today. But the best part of working at OB was the friendship that I started with our gorgeous bride Cat, which fortunately for us surpassed the life of Orangeball.

Cat and I quickly became closer and closer friends with bits and pieces of our personalities rubbing off on each other... Some traits for better and some for the worse.

Last summer when I told Cat that I was moving to Hawaii, I asked her to hurry up and get engaged before I left. She passed along the message to Monty and not long after he honored my request and popped the question.

Since I left a year ago, Monty has done a great job at his role of fiance, as well as my replacement, helping Cat to not only plan this beautiful wedding, but also acting as her confidant and best friend. Monty thanks for taking care of my Kitty Cat and for being "the ONE" we have all been waiting for her to find. I have never seen Cat let her guard down and open up her heart as she has with you!

As they say in Hawaii, "aloha mai, may you always be surrounded in love." I love you both and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both!!

To Cat and Monty!!
"

Unfortunately for the guests of the wedding my hands and voice started shaking so much that they may not have understood a word that I said!!

The Orangeball crew

I missed the bouquet....

Everything came together beautifully. Cat and Monty had the perfect special day, and I am truly happy to have been a part of it!

The rest of the update coming soon!!!
